Our intricately designed fitting process takes even the novice shooter to a potential high-scoring clay shooter. Once you've mastered your proper mounting technique you'll be well on your way to the best shot possible.
Practice Makes Perfect
Our Master Gunfitter hosts 2 hours of one-on-one shooting lessons at any of our Houston area clubs, mostly Westside Sporting. Here you will strengthen your new fit all while taking in extra tips and tricks of the trade to master your shooting skills at home or for future competition.

Larry Feland is our owner here at Feland's and just so happens to be an NSCA Certified instructor. He's also a Master Gunfitter with over 40 years experience.. if you are interested in being fit properly to your shotgun or recieving one on one lessons from someone whose made a name for himself in this industry for excelling in what he does, Larry is your man!

Gunfit Process

01.
Schedule Gunfit Appointment
Contact us via email, phone, or through the website contact tab. **please remember to bring your eye & ear protection, and if you wear a vest or coat while shooting bring those as well**
02.
Check in & Prepare for measurements
Speak with front desk person where they will notify the Master Gunfitter of your arrival. From there we will get you started on filling out a tag with your personal info and one of our gunsmiths will take current gun measurements to pass along to the gunfitter..
03.
See Master Gunfitter!
Larry will evaluate youreye dominating mount and current fit of your shotgun. Any abnormalities of the mount will be addressed and adjusted as the fit progresses!
04.
Practice, Practice, Practice
You will then take your new and improved mount, and all the tips from Larry to apply it to practicing at home or at the range. The goal is to ensure you solidify what you were taught and how you approach your gun moving forward!

    I went to Felands Gunsmithing yesterday and got fitted to my Remington 1100. He is going to shorten my length of pull, take 7 degrees out of the stock(I think), and added a riser to help align my eyes better above the barrel. He put on temporary setup for me to go try and shoot a few times before he makes it permanent.He also spent a good 1.5 hours teaching me on proper stance, and now the gun just feels so natural holding it up. Can't wait for the rain to go away and try it out! He said there will be a learning curve but I'll be shooting straights in no time. Thank you Mr. Feland if you see this!

    "...... I left it was looking perfectly fine as a 'shooter' and could do the final finish later on. I shot a local registered tournament the next day, took HOA in the main and placed top 3 in both of the side events. Far more important to me was getting my confidence with the gun and having it be comfortable and repeatable in mounting and shot recovery. I really dont have enough good things to say about Larry and his crew- super friendly and just incredibly professional. I don't hold a candle to the skills and experience this man has. Larry didnt ask me to do this and doesn't need me to but I wanted to share this story. I highly recommend seeing Larry for a fitting- the best money you will ever spend on your game.
